40,000 investors – and counting!
Peter and Dot, from Warlingham, Surrey, were first referred to the Holiday Property Bond by a friend. A subsequent visit to HPB’s Sibton Park home in Kent convinced them that this was one investment well worth making. “We loved the site,” says Dot, “but we were also impressed by the ‘transparency’ – there was a real feeling of honesty about the place and the people. No-one was trying to convince us that HPB was something it wasn’t, and we were left to make up our own minds in our own time. We felt this was one organisation we wanted to belong to.”
Exploring the UK
Peter is a self-employed civil engineer, while Dot works with visually impaired students in mainstream schools. Retirement will enable them to look further afield, but for now they’re happy mostly to explore the HPB’s UK homes.
“We want to go to Braithwaite Court in Cumbria – a lovely part of the country – as well as Askrigg in the Yorkshire Dales; real picture-postcard stuff. We’re also looking at Lower Knapp Farm in Devon, Langton House in Dorset – and, funnily enough, a return visit to Sibton Park. Kent’s not that far from home, but staying at Sibton will allow us to ‘do’ the area properly, rather than being limited to day trips.”**quote**
Looking forward to France
Lots in the pipeline, then. But one they’re really looking forward to is a visit to Constant in the Dordogne. “We love France, and can’t wait to spend some time in one of our favourite areas of the country. We’re also keen to visit HPB’s other French homes, Le Manoir du Hilguy in Brittany and Le Mont de St Siméon in Île de France.”
