Coreggia, Puglia, Italy
Located close to the five refurbished original trulli are three new-builds. Trulli are mortarless round single-storey dwellings, built from large slabs of whitewashed limestone. The conical roofs are built using dark grey limestone slabs that merge straight from the thick outer walls, giving them their classic and instantly recognisable appearance.
Because the trulli of Alberobello are protected by UNESCO, it is not permitted to construct any new trulli on the site. The three new-build properties are located close to the other five and share the use of communal facilities and the pool. Two of the new-build trulli are two-bedroom, accommodating four guests and the final property is the newest addition to the site and is classed as a villa. This one has more of a modern, square design, and with three bedrooms it can accommodate six guests.
All the properties are beautiful white-washed dwellings, ideal for those wanting to soak up the culture and heritage of the area. Both four-guest properties have one double bedroom and one twin bedroom while the villa supplies an extra twin room on top of that, making it better suited to families or groups. The villa features two en-suites in addition to a separate shower room.
