Le Mont de St Siméon
below, but first a brief explanation about the Holiday Property Bond.
A. How can I holiday better?
Invest from £5,000 in the Holiday Property Bond for exclusive access to a portfolio of over 1,500 top quality villas, cottages and apartments in 32 locations across 13 European countries, including over 600 properties in 19 locations in the UK. For each £1 invested you will receive one Holiday Point each year which you can use to book the properties. And when staying in them you do not pay a commercial rent, just a no-profit user charge covering actual running, maintenance and refurbishment costs. This charge is level throughout the year so there are no high season premiums. The average charge for a studio is around £360 and around £540 for a two bedroom property, for a week. Larger properties are also available. This no-profit user charge is only payable when you want to go on holiday. Your only ongoing commitment is a quarterly fee under £38 (that is around £150 a year), linked to RPIX.
B. Will there be more properties in the future?
As we attract more investors the more properties we will add to the portfolio – increasing your holiday choice still further.
C. How long can I holiday with HPB?
For life if you wish – the holiday benefits last as long as you hold the Bond. In due course you can pass it and the holiday benefits to your children and grandchildren, as many of our earlier investors have already done. If, however, at some point you and your family no longer wish to holiday with us you can surrender your Bond back to the company after two years or more (subject to deferral in exceptional circumstances). You will not get back the full amount you invested, although we would hope that you will have had some wonderful holidays. What you do get back will reflect initial charges (25%) taken before your money is invested in the HPB fund of holiday properties and securities. The fund itself also pays annual charges of around 2.5% of its net assets at cost, calculated monthly, as well as overheads. The value of the fund’s properties and securities can also go up or down and so, like most investments, your capital is at risk.
The Île de France, with Paris at its hub, lies at the very heart of French history and culture, taking in Reims and Fontainebleau, Senlis and Chantilly, Rambouillet and Chartres, and of course Versailles. Here, set on a gentle hillside near the village of St. Siméon – some six miles east of Coulommiers – is Le Mont de St. Siméon, a development of 39 beautifully appointed holiday properties set in an attractive courtyard overlooking the valley of the river Grand Morin.
Near St. Siméon, the Champagne region around Reims and Epernay offers easy motoring through pleasant wooded countryside. Further afield the attractions include the Palace of Fontainebleu, a favourite hunting residence of the French Kings, and the internationally renowned painters' village of Barbizon. You are also within easy reach of Paris by road or rail.

Visit exquisite castles and palaces
If you have an interest in French architecture and history, then you'll want to visit some of the many royal palaces and castles near St Siméon. One of the largest royal palaces is Fontainebleau; surrounded by a forest, it was much-loved by French kings, and it's easy to see why.
There's also the chateau at Vaux-le-Vicomte, the architects of which went on to design the Palais de Versailles, which is larger in scale but not quite as exquisite, some may argue. We'll let you decide!
If it's a castle you wish to see, then visit the Château de Blandy les Tours – a feudal castle with medieval fortifications, which were added during the Hundred Years War.
Drink plenty of champagne
It would be rude not to drink champagne when you're so close to the region in which it originates. Les Grandes Marques, where the bubbly is produced, are often open for tours, where you can see the champagne aging in tunnels and caves underneath Rheims. Of course, and the end of the tour you'll get to sample the result!
There's also a champagne-tasting excursion at St Siméon, which takes place every week.
Eat your weight in Brie
France is famous for cheese and Brie is produced throughout the Île-de-France region. We thoroughly recommend giving Fromagerie Ganot in Jouarre a visit! You'll definitely want to take some home with you.
Take the kids to a theme park
Children and adults of all ages love Disney, so why not treat the whole family to a day at Disneyland Paris? Alternatively, there's Parc Astérix, which a theme park based on the characters created by Albert Uderzo and René Goscinny. There are fantastic rides and shows at both for kids and adults of all ages.
Enjoy the romance of Paris
France's capital is just 60km away from St Siméon, so you'll no doubt want to pay it a visit at some point during your holiday. Make sure you tick landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and Arc de Triomphe off your list of things to see and do while you're here.
If you've seen them all before, then why not just go for a walk through the city and stop somewhere for a glass of wine or coffee? Paris is one of the best places to watch the world go by and perhaps even propose to that someone special!
