Ludlow Food Centre

Ludlow Food Centre

Well-known as a fantastic gastronomic centre, Ludlow is home to a great many restaurants, farmers’ markets and specialist food shops.

The Ludlow Food Centre is located on the outskirts of town and sells a brilliant range of local and handmade food. It’s a large indoor food shopping centre that has won a great many awards, including the title of ‘Britain’s Best Food Hall’ and ‘Food Hall of the year’ in The Farm Shop & Deli Awards.

“We were overjoyed to win such a prestigious award. Being recognised amongst the calibre of competition in the Food Hall category is both exciting and humbling,” says Managing Director, Edward Berry. “The dedication of our staff has helped us establish a business that our customers enjoy shopping in and that we are proud to be part of.”

The Food Centre launched a decade ago and combines farm shop with food production centre. They are located on the Earl of Plymouth’s Oakly Park Estate where there are roughly 8,000 acres of countryside to make use of, so all the beef, lamb and Gloucester Old Spot, along with some of the game and the vegetables are grown or reared right there on the estate. In fact half of the products sold here are made or produced on the premises; there are eight production kitchens, the spacious food hall itself and a gift shop. Breads and deli products are made and sold on site and the variety of delicious food will have you spoilt for choice.

Ludlow, just eight miles from Upper Norton, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a medieval market town with a rich history dating back to the 12th century. Famously described by John Betjeman as “the loveliest town in England”. There are a great many wonderful places to visit when you’re here, but the Food Centre is certainly worth making time for if you’re a fan of a farm shop!

It’s located to the north of the city centre in Bromfield off the A49. From Upper Norton it is just a 10 minute drive. Turn left out of the main entrance and follow the lane to Onibury. At the first main road you come to, turn right and then left onto the A49 towards Leominster, over the train track. There’s a sign post and a left turn just after you’ve crossed the river Onny. Take the first right past The Clive and follow the road round.
