Tigh Mor Trossachs ten visits …and counting

We’ve always liked to travel. Different people have different priorities, but for Caroline and me, seeing different parts of the world has always been pretty high up on the list. Faced with a choice between, say, recarpeting the living room or taking a holiday, we would always tend towards the latter.

We first heard about the Holiday Property Bond in the mid 1990s. The parents of some friends of ours were Bondholders, then our friends joined… it was all “Bond” this, “Bond” that… So when we got the chance to attend an Open Day, we thought we’d go along and see what all the fuss was about.

That open day at Tigh Mor Trossachs, some 50 miles from the McGuires’ home, was all it took. Caroline continues…

“We met the rep, who was also a Bondholder – which helped! But what really impressed us was the sheer quality of what was on offer: beautifully appointed accommodation, sumptuously furnished, very well equipped, in a fantastic location. At the time, if we had any misgivings they were along the lines of ‘they can’t all be this good – can they?’ But as we’ve since discovered – they are!”

The McGuires have made good use of HPB. Since 1998 they’ve holidayed at Henllys in Anglesey, North Wales, twice; Blore Hall in Derbyshire; La Reserva de Biniorella on Majorca, “four or five times”; Braithwaite Court in Cumbria; Santa Rosa on Lanzarote; Le Mont de Saint Siméon in Île de France, just east of Paris; Encosta Cabo Girão on Madeira; Stigliano, HPB’s Tuscan palazzo; and numerous Tenancies. They’ve also topped up their HPB investment regularly to increase their holiday benefits.

The one site that draws them back though, time after time, is Tigh Mor – 10 visits and counting. “True, it’s on our doorstep,” says Caroline, “but it’s just such a beautiful area. And the kids always get very excited about going to the ‘castle’!”

As there are now four McGuires, rather than two – Sean and Adam having swelled the ranks – quality has become even more of an issue. “Quality – and safety,” confirms Eamonn. “But we’re 100% confident we’re getting the very best of both. The sites and properties may differ – it would be a shame if they didn’t – but the standards are uniform. And absolutely first class.”
