Bena Vista is part of the Holiday Property Bond portfolio offering exclusive access to over 1,500 properties to over 40,000 investors across more than 30 locations. You can find out more about Bena Vista below, but first a brief explanation about the Holiday Property Bond.

A. How can I holiday better?

Invest from £5,000 in the Holiday Property Bond for exclusive access to a portfolio of over 1,500 top quality villas, cottages and apartments in 32 locations across 13 European countries, including over 600 properties in 19 locations in the UK. For each £1 invested you will receive one Holiday Point each year which you can use to book the properties. And when staying in them you do not pay a commercial rent, just a no-profit user charge covering actual running, maintenance and refurbishment costs. This charge is level throughout the year so there are no high season premiums. The average charge for a studio is around £360 and around £540 for a two bedroom property, for a week. Larger properties are also available. This no-profit user charge is only payable when you want to go on holiday. Your only ongoing commitment is a quarterly fee under £38 (that is around £150 a year), linked to RPIX.

B. Will there be more properties in the future?

As we attract more investors the more properties we will add to the portfolio – increasing your holiday choice still further.

C. How long can I holiday with HPB?

For life if you wish – the holiday benefits last as long as you hold the Bond. In due course you can pass it and the holiday benefits to your children and grandchildren, as many of our earlier investors have already done. If, however, at some point you and your family no longer wish to holiday with us you can surrender your Bond back to the company after two years or more (subject to deferral in exceptional circumstances). You will not get back the full amount you invested, although we would hope that you will have had some wonderful holidays. What you do get back will reflect initial charges (25%) taken before your money is invested in the HPB fund of holiday properties and securities. The fund itself also pays annual charges of around 2.5% of its net assets at cost, calculated monthly, as well as overheads. The value of the fund’s properties and securities can also go up or down and so, like most investments, your capital is at risk.

With more than 100 miles of sandy beaches washed by the warm Mediterranean – and enjoying approximately 320 days of sunshine each year – the Costa del Sol, with its dramatic backdrop of the Sierra Nevada mountains, is regarded by many as Spain's most exciting tourist destination.

The private resort of Bena Vista is situated midway between Marbella and Estepona, on the south-facing slopes of the Andalucian foothills. The development features immaculately maintained gardens, swimming pools and pathways, and welcomes many repeat guests year after year.

Nearby Marbella is known the world over as one of the most vibrant holiday destinations in Southern Europe. And for the holidaymaker this part of Spain has it all: beaches, mountains, and old world charm; cosmopolitan atmosphere and services, countryside and city, and a wonderful climate that keeps the temperatures cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

However, the Costa del Sol isn't just a playground for the rich and famous – travel a few miles inland to see the more traditional side of this area. You'll discover small villages in the Bermaja and Sierra Nevada mountain ranges.

Bena Vista itself is ideally situated for a host of attractions including no less than 25 golf courses within a 45-minute drive. What's more, on-site attractions include bowling, a bar with food menu, two sun terraces, pools and the delightful gardens.

Enjoy Andalusian culture in Seville

The 2.5-hour journey to Seville is well worth it, as it's the perfect place to experience Spain's culture, from song contests and parades to fiestas and folkloric displays. There are also three UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Cathedral, the General Archive of the Indies and the Alcázar.

If you have time, you should also visit Granada. The journey is just as long, but the intriguing gypsy quarter of Albaicin and the breathtaking Moorish palace the Alhambra are must-sees.

Hit the beach(es)

As you will know, the Costa del Sol is home to some fantastic beaches, and the Mediterranean is glorious to swim in (and safe, too). When you don't want to bathe or paddle but still want to enjoy the coastal scenery, many towns have promenades (paseo maritimos to the locals) filled with restaurants, bars and cafes.

Enjoy a glass of sherry, or five

Jerez is a city famous for its bodegas (cellars) packed full of sherry. Domecq and Gonzalez Byass are both made here, and date back some 250 years! If you're a fan of the tipple, then definitely take a tour of one of the vineyards and see how it's all made. Plus, of course, you'll get to have a taste too!

Go dolphin-spotting

Natures-lovers will be pleased to know that if they head to the Bay of Gibraltar, there's a good chance they'll see some dolphins. Common, bottlenose and striped dolphins can see be spotted on tourist trips, as well as whales. It's a great chance to see these animals in their natural environment, plus the kids will learn loads from the experts on-board, as they will give talks throughout the trip.

Play on some of Europe's best golf courses

Golfers really are spoilt for choice when it comes to golf courses, as there are more than 100 in the Costa del Sol. All of them have fantastic views, especially those in clifftop locations, and since there's warm weather guaranteed all year round, you'll can play no matter when you visit – so long as your family let you!

Long-stay holidays

We can't blame you for wanting to stay at Bena Vista for more than just a week, which is why we offer concessionary long-stay specials. These are only available out of season, however, as this private resort is so popular.
