Viehhofen, Salzburgerland, Austria
Viehhofen (859m) is a typical small Austrian village, with supermarket, drinks store, bank, tourist information centre, internet café, restaurants, post office, ski-hire shop, ski school, walks and hiking trails. There is a ski-bus (free when you buy a ski pass) to Saalbach and a post-bus hourly to Saalbach and Zell-am-See. The bus stop is three minutes' walk from the chalet.
There are many supermarkets in the area. The Landal reception office near Sport Oberlader has a small Internet café. The Dorfstadl restaurant is nearby.
Out of season, April (after Easter) to early May, and late October to early December, many local tourist and eating facilities are closed. Please note that the chalets are a mile from the centre of Viehhofen. Cars cannot always reach them in winter and may have to be parked up to 70 metres away (unless you have adequate chains, studded tyres and/or 4 wheel drive).
